 It is a unique venue in that children are immersed in tactile, thinking activities for the duration of their stay. It is open exclusively to schools, Mon – Fri, for school excursions. 
(The centre is also open on weekends and evenings to the general public).   

 The activities themselves supplement school curriculum in different KLA’s, most notably in Health and PE, Science & Drama curriculum areas, by focusing on and enhancing the following student skills: 
* motor skills (coordination),
* initiative  & leadership skills  
* communication  & teamwork     
* competition 
* problem solving           
* creative & imaginative skills

School groups rotate around the 6 different activity areas (Task Centres), spending ~30 mins in each area. Smaller school groups have exclusive use for 1/2 day excursions, while larger groups (~70+ children) have exclusive use of the facility for the whole day.

Schools are supplied with a resource kit containing relevant information prior to their visit and classroom worksheets to integrate the visit with their school curriculum.

There is a requirement for adult supervision of children. Teachers, parents and Taskworks staff provide this.

 A stay of approx. 3 hours in total enables a child to experience the range of activities at Taskworks. For whole day excursions we have a recess and lunch break. Lunch packs, snacks and drinks are available for purchase or students can bring their own food..

Given the differing skills required (eg. co-ordination, problem solving, creativity etc) each child is sure to find an activity they thoroughly enjoy, whilst experiencing success in participating in the activity areas.

 For added safety we also provide on-site bus parking.
